Statesville Man Charged After A Pair Of Overdose Deaths

November 4, 2023 By Richard C. Gilbert

A Statesville man has been charged in connection to the overdose death of two females.

Statesville Police released the following information.

On November 1 at 11:18 am, the Statesville Police Department responded to a call to assist Iredell County EMS at the 1100 block of S. Meeting Street in response to two unconscious females. Upon arrival, both individuals, identified as Brittany Peace, 33 of Statesville, and Heather Wilson, 35 of Statesville, were pronounced deceased.

SPD Officers discovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia in the bedroom where Peace and Wilson were found. In response to these findings, Narcotics Investigators initiated an investigation into the overdoses.

Kaylan Obrien Brandon

The investigation revealed that one of the females had purchased narcotics shortly before the overdoses, from Kaylan Obrien Brandon, a 28-year-old resident of Statesville.

Brandon was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Felony Death by Distribution and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a secured bond of $1 million.
