Statesville Man Arrested On Child-Sex Charges

In January, a report was filed with the Statesville Police Department in reference to a child who had been sexually assaulted. The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) was assigned to the case.

The child was taken to the Dove House Advocacy Center and was interviewed. The child disclosed the sexual assaults that had taken place. A search warrant for the residence of 32-year old Kyle Lang Houston of 105 D Brookshire Lane in Statesville was issued. The warrant was executed on February 2nd by investigators with the Statesville Police Department and the NC State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI). Additional evidence was obtained during the search of Houston’s residence.

On February 2nd, Houston turned himself in at the Iredell County Jail where he was taken into custody by the Statesville Police Department. He appeared before a magistrate where he was charged with three (3) counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child and two (2) counts of Statutory Sex Offense with a Child by an Adult. Houston was taken to the Iredell County jail where he received a $500,000 secure bond.
