South Carolina Woman Arrested After Alexander County Vehicle Chase

A South Carolina woman was arrested Thursday afternoon in Alexander County after she led officers on a chase.

53-year old Sherry Lynn Davis of Florence, South Carolina allegedly disregarded a road closure on NC Highway 127. The North Carolina Highway Patrol had closed a portion of the highway due to an accident. Davis is reported to have driven through the closed portion of the the roadway and led troopers on a chase that ended on Church Road.

Davis is charged with flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, assault on a government official and failure to obey traffic orders according to the NC Highway Patrol.

Davis was taken to the Alexander County Detention Center and released under a secured bond of $10,000.

Taylorsville Police assisted the NC Highway Patrol.
