Chris Everhart
Everhart had been on the staff under Casey Justice, who stepped down but will continue to coach the school’s softball team.
A statement was issued by the school:
“South Caldwell High School is excited to announce the hiring of Chris Everhart as our new head football coach,” the school said in a social media post. “Coach Everhart is a leader of men, exemplifies toughness and discipline, and demands a high standard for our student-athletes. We are excited to watch him excel in his new leadership position and develop winners on and off the gridiron-congratulations Coach!”
The Spartans finished the 2025 season with a 2-9 overall record (0-5 Northwestern 6A/7A), yet made it to the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 6A state playoffs thanks to a strong strength of schedule. The Spartans were blanked on the road at A.C. Reynolds in the first round.
South Caldwell competes in the Northwestern 6A/7A with Alexander Central, Freedom, McDowell, St. Stephens, and defending 6A state champion Watauga.
