School Board Approves Grade 3-5 to Return to In-person Learning Nov. 30

November 11, 2020 By Richard C. Gilbert

Alexander County’s Third, Fourth, and Fifth grade students will return to In-Person Learning after the County Board Of Education approved the measure at their meeting Tuesday evening.

Superintendent Dr. Hefner presented an update since the PreK – 2nd grade students returned to in-person learning. She detailed the metrics in the county prior to the return to in-person learning and the most recent. Although the county data shows a significant increase in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, the schools have not reflected significant increases.

After considerable discussion, the board approved grades 3 – 5 will return to in-person learning on Nov. 30.
