A man charged with an Alexander County home invasion and rape is scheduled to make a court appearance today in Alexander County District Court.
35-year old Julius Santez Williams of Yadkin County was arrested Friday afternoon in Catawba County. He was spotted in Monroe earlier in the day but was able to elude officers on foot. Williams is charged with an incident that occurred on July 19th in Hiddenite. An elderly woman was awakened in her home by a man hitting her in the face and strangling her.Sheiriff Chris Bowman said Friday that D.N.A. evidence confirmed by the SBI crime lab, linked Williams to the crime. He’s charged with Felony First Degree Rape, Felony First Degree Burglary, Felony First Degree Kidnapping, and Felony Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury. Williams has a long criminal history and is a registered sex-offender who has been convicted for indecent liberties with a minor multiple times involving multiple victims.
He is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $1.225 million.
