As reported this morning on B86 Radio, the issue of a proposed gun range to be located off Teague Town Road was on the Alexander County Board of Commissioner’s Meeting for Monday, February 4th. That hearing has now been postponed. The issue has drawn considerable opposition due to concerns over safety and noise. The County Planning and Zoning commission rejected the application by Landon Ferguson on January 10th. The County Commission is not bound by that decision and can still consider the project. Ferguson is revising his site plan and intends to submit another application at a later date. The following statement was issued today:
Please be advised that the quasi-judicial hearing for Conditional Use Case 19-1 (Landon Ferguson / Tactical Training Center) scheduled for Monday, February 4, 2019 has been canceled due to the applicant withdrawing his application. The applicant will reapply at a later date with a revised site plan.
