One Teen Killed Another Wounded In Statesville Shooting

Statesville Police say a teen was shot and killed and another teen was wounded on Wednesday.

A 19-year-old male was pronounced dead at a location in the 600 block of Goldsboro Avenue around 10 p.m. Wednesday. A 15-year-old male was transported to Wake Forest Atrium Health in Winston-Salem for treatment. The names of those two victims have not been released.

Police say they responded to the scene after a report of shots fired.

Northview Academy, located nearby was closed on Thursday due to the incident. It’s reported that one of the victims was a student in the Iredell-Statesville School System.

No other information has been released.
