Nine New COVID-19 Deaths Reported In Alexander County

February 11, 2021 By Richard C. Gilbert

9 additional COVID-19 deaths were confirmed on Thursday in Alexander County.

The Alexander County Department of Health reports that 76 people have died since the beginning of the pandemic

10 county citizens were hospitalized as of 5pm Thursday

13 new cases were reported on Thursday bringing the total to 3717 since the first case was confirmed in the county in March 2020

4,000 have been vaccinated

The county received 300 first doses of vaccine this week and is scheduled to receive 300 first doses next week. Health Department staff continues to schedule appointments as supply allows in Groups 1 and 2, which include health care workers and those ages 65+.

Because many people have already received the vaccine in other locations, the health department requests those who submitted their contact information on January 20 or earlier to resubmit their information if a vaccination is still needed. Citizens can call the hotline at 828-352-7724 or use the online form at alexandercountync.gov/covid.
