Newton Woman Killed In Lincoln County Accident

A Catawba County woman died in a single-car crash in Cherryville on Friday morning.

Misty Lovelace Palmer, 47 of Newton, died at the scene of the crash along N.C. 274 in Lincoln County according to N.C. State Highway Patrol Master Trooper Christopher Casey in a news release.

Palmer’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. She perished as the result of her injuries and was not restrained by a seatbelt according to the release.

The initial investigation indicates excessive speed was a contributing circumstance in the collision.
