Newton Police Charge Man On Series Of Felony Charges

A Watauga County man is facing a series of felony charges following his arrest by Newton Police on Thursday.

29-year old William Jay Allen of Vilas was charged with felony trafficking in methamphetamine, felony possession of heroin, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a felon and a fugitive warrant from another state. Allen is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center with a secured bond of $150,000. A Friday court appearance is scheduled.
