Newton Man Charged With Trafficking Cocaine And Child Abuse

The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Newton man on Monday and charged him felony drug trafficking counts.

36-year old Alvin Jaunwon Linebarger was charged with felony trafficking in cocaine, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession of a firearm by a felon and multiple counts of misdemeanor child abuse. He was placed in the Catawba County Detention Center with a secured bond of $141,000. Linebarger has an initial court appearance scheduled for Tuesday.
