
Aaron Doyle Mirtsching
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office investigated a cyber-tip that was received from Internet Crimes Against Children. Following the investigation, the initial warrants were issued against Mirtsching for three counts of sexual exploitation of a child.
According to multiple published reports, the suspect worked at New Dimensions Charter School in Morganton. He also worked as a youth pastor at Thrive Church, he was fired from that position after church officials learned of the arrest.
Mirtsching was arrested again last Thursday (August 24) and charged with ten felony counts of indecent liberties with a child. Following the second arrest, Mirtsching was placed in the Burke County Jail under $50,000 secured bond.
On Tuesday (August 29) additional warrants were issued against Mirtsching for two counts of indecent liberties with a minor. He was issued an additional $150,000 secured bond with a court date set for Wednesday (August 30). Mirtsching remained in the Burke County Jail as of earlier today (August 31) under $200,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing.
