Morganton Man Held Under Bond Of Over $1 Million

23-year-old Carlton Javius Fuller of Morganton was arrested Monday (August 7) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with three felony counts of second-degree kidnapping, single felony counts of first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny, and assault with physical injury on a law enforcement, probation, or parole officer. Fuller is also charged with misdemeanor counts of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting a public officer.

Monday at 5:40 pm, a Public Safety Officer responded to the suspect’s address. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with Fuller, who was already under arrest. The suspect had sustained minor injuries and was brought to UNC Health Blue Ridge for treatment. After the doctor released him, Fuller was transported to the Burke County Jail.

According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Carlton Javius Fuller has multiple convictions, all in 2016. He was convicted in Burke County in March, April, May and November of that year for multiple offenses including first-degree burglary. The burglary conviction resulted in a prison term of just over six years that ended in 2022.

Following Monday’s arrest, Fuller was incarcerated in the Burke County Jail where he remained as of earlier today under a total secured bond of 1,065,000. District Court appearances are scheduled Thursday (August 10) and for August 31.
