On June 20th, at approximately 9:30pm, Officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety conducted a vehicle stop on a passenger car due to the registration being revoked. Officers located David Nathaniel Ross, 35, of Morganton, driving the vehicle as well as a juvenile inside. Officers noticed drug paraphernalia inside the car which resulted in a search of the vehicle.
Morganton Public Safety OIfficers located two firearms, over 211 grams of Methamphetamine, over 28 grams of Fentanyl, and over $9,000 in cash. Ross was arrested and charged with the following:
• Level 2 Trafficking of Methamphetamine
• Level 3 Trafficking of Fentanyl
The investigation is continuing with additional charges possible.
Ross is being held in jail under a secured bond of $201,000. He was scheduled to make a court appearance on Wednesday.
