May 5, 2021 By Richard C. Gilbert

The Mocksville Town Board voted Tuesday night to dissolve the Mocksville Police Department and enter into a contract with the Davie County Sheriff’s Office starting this summer for the town’s law enforcement services.

The contract will begin on July 1st.

The Board voted unanimously for a $1.3 million, three-year contract, citing more than a million dollars in savings for the town over several years. Mocksville Officers will have the opportunity to apply for new positions with the Davie County Sheriff’s Office.

Existing vehicles and equipment would be transferred to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office.
