Missing Wilkes County Man Found Dead

A man listed as missing by the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office has been found dead.

According to a press release from the NC Highway Patrol, on Friday, September 11, at approximately 11:15 a.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to a fatal collision on Mountain Valley Church Road in North Wilkesboro.
 
A gray Nissan Frontier was traveling west on Mountain Valley Church Road when it ran off the road to the left, traveled down an embankment, and struck a tree. The driver of the truck, 58-year-old Roger David Harris, was identified and found deceased at the scene.
 
Harris had also been reported as a missing person on Friday, September 4.
 
Mr. Harris  was wearing his seat belt when he was found. At this time, it is still under investigation to what contributed to the collision.
