A man wanted for a series of crimes including rape is now being held in the Alexander County Detention Center.
35-year old Julius Santez Williams of Yadkin County was arrested Friday afternoon in Catawba County. He was spotted in Monroe earlier in the day but was able to elude officers on foot.After receiving a D.N.A. match that identified Williams, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office announced earlier on Friday that Williams was wanted on charges of Felony First Degree Rape, Felony First Degree Burglary, Felony First Degree Kidnapping, and Felony Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury. The charges stem from a home invasion in which an elderly female was sexually assaulted on July 19, 2020 at a residence in the Hiddenite Community of Alexander County. The victim told investigators she was asleep in her bed and was awakened by a man hitting her in the face and strangling her.
Williams has a long criminal history and is a registered sex-offender who has been convicted for indecent liberties with a minor multiple times involving multiple victims. https://sexoffender.ncsbi.gov/details.aspx?SRN=015805S3
Williams is being held under bond of $ 1.225 million. He is scheduled to make an initial court appearance in Alexander County District Court on Monday, October 19th.
