An Iredell County man has been charged following an incident last week that resulted in another man being stabbed.
On Tuesday, January 5th, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a residence near Mooresville, in reference to a report of a victim having been stabbed.
Officers located the victim who was suffering from a severe stab wound to the upper body. The victim identified the person who stabbed him as 22-year old Cody Lee Choate of Mooresville The victim said Choate asked to use his computer, and he refused because he felt Choate was going to use it to purchase narcotics. The victim said Choate became angry, grabbed a knife then chased him down the road where he stabbed him. The victim was treated at a local hospital.On Wednesday, January 6th, deputies located Choate at his residence. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. Choate was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center with a secured bond of $250,000.
