Man Arrested After Breaking Into Homes In Western Iredell County

Iredell County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Lippard Farm Road in Western Iredell County on Wednesday after multiple calls regarding a suspicious person.

One caller indicated the male suspect had broken into another home. The caller was inside the home as the suspect entered and was now locked in the bedroom to seek safety.

35-year old Mauricio Samuel Christian of Rougemont in Durham County, NC was taken into custody.

The investigation revealed that Christian had broken into four homes in the area, and had stolen items. He had also assaulted a homeowner by hitting them with the door while trying to gain entry to the residence.

Christian was charged with; Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Breaking and Entering to Terrorize or Injure, Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering, Misdemeanor Attempt to Break and Enter, Misdemeanor Breaking and Entering, Misdemeanor Assault, and Misdemeanor Resisting Public Officer.

The suspect is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center with a secured bond of $50,000.
