Lenoir Man Nabbed By Taylorsville Police

Officers with the Taylorsville Police Department arrested 37-year old Derek Lee Ritchie of Lenoir on Saturday. Ritchie was taken into custody after a traffic stop involving a license tag that was reported stolen from McDowell County. Ritchie was charged with possession of stolen property for the tag offense.

He was also charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule VI controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ritchie was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center and later released on a secured bond of $20,000. He is scheduled to appear on Alexander County District Court on March 8th.
