STATESVILLE – N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close a lane on Interstate 40 East near Statesville for maintenance work next week, weather permitting.
The right lane will be closed at 7 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, near exit 162 (U.S. 64) so crews can safely perform concrete slab repairs. The closure will be in place around the clock until 8 a.m. Thursday. The ramp to exit 162 will remain open.
Drivers should remain alert, use caution, and reduce speed in the work zone.
