Faith Carrigan dominated in the circle allowing just 2 hits and striking out 15 as Alexander Central beat North Buncombe and their highly touted pitcher Karly Pickens. They also defeated Pickens and North Buncombe in the 2021 State Tournament.
The Lady Cougars plated all three runs in the 6th inning. Abby Teague had the game’s only run-batted-in. AC managed just 4 hits. The contest was part of a Saturday event at South Caldwell High School.
