A New York man is facing felony drug trafficking charges in Iredell County.
On Thursday, February 11, deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) Team were working on Interstate 77 North in the area of the 63 mile marker. They conducted a traffic stop of a rented 2020 Kia Forte with a Missouri Registration Plate for traffic violations.
Officers located a half pound of MDMA, (Ectasy) concealed in a pair of sneakers located in the trunk of the vehicle, as well as marijuana. The street value of the MDMA is over $11,000 dollars.
39-year old Dartaine Marquez Ubiles of Buffalo, New York was taken into custody and charged with; Felony Trafficking in MDMA by Possession, Felony Trafficking in MDMA by Transportation, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver MDMA, Felony Maintain a Vehicle for the Use or Sale of a Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.Ubiles was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a secured bond of $200,000.
