Iredell County Man Charged In Alexander County Traffic Stop

A Statesville man is in custody in Alexander County.

26-year old Jairo Leonel Vasquez-Espinoza was arrested on Sunday following a traffic stop by the North Carolina Highway Patrol and the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. He’s charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises. The suspect remains in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $10,000. A May 16th court date is scheduled in Taylorsville.
