Following an investigation that began in July, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office announced today the arrest of 11 individuals for charges involving the trafficking of methamphetamine.
During the month of July 2023, Narcotics investigators with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team along with assistance from Special Agents with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations began an investigation into the distribution of Crystal Methamphetamine within the city of Statesville and other parts of Iredell County. During this investigation, Deputies seized approximately 1,899 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine and 6.620 grams of Cocaine with an estimated combined street value of $95,500.00 along with an additional $1,919.00 in US Currency. Deputies also seized two vehicles and a small amount of Marijuana.
Eleven individuals all with previous criminal records were charged serious drug offenses resulting in a combined bond amount of nearly ten and half million dollars.
The investigation began with Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and Special Agents with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations making purchases of Crystal Methamphetamine and Cocaine from William T. Miller, 53 Years Old, of 110 East Raleigh Avenue, Statesville. From July to November, Investigators and Agents purchased approximately 1,600 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine and 3.760 grams of Cocaine directly from Miller. During these undercover purchases, Investigators learned of other subjects throughout Iredell County that were visiting Miller to obtain controlled substances. Based on this information, Investigators utilized a variety of surveillance techniques to identify these individuals. With assistance from the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team and Patrol Deputies, these suspects were contacted after they left Miller’s residence and if they were found to be in possession of illegal substance, they were taken into custody. Investigators were also able to identify Devin D’Andrae Allen Tomlin as Miller’s source of supply for the Crystal Methamphetamine that he was distributing.Sheriff Campbell commented, “This will have an immediate and long lasting effect on the drug trade in Iredell County and surrounding areas.
