Iredell County Bridge Closed

August 23, 2021 By Richard C. Gilbert

STATESVILLE – Today, N.C. Department of Transportation crews closed an Iredell County bridge to begin a weeklong daytime construction project.

The Wood Bridge Road bridge that carries traffic over Third Creek will be closed in both directions daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. while crews examine the subsurface around the structure. Work is expected to be complete by Aug. 31.

During the closures, traffic will use a detour following Highway 64 and Island Ford Road.

Motorists should plan for delays due to the detour.
