A residence was destroyed and another was damaged by fire at a mobile home park off N.C. 16-18 in the Moravian Falls Fire District on Monday.
The Wilkes County Fire Marshall’s Office says the fire began in an electrical outlet in the kitchen of the singlewide mobile home that was destroyed. Two men who lived there and rented the mobile home weren’t home at the time of the fire.
A car parked nearby was damaged. Winds helped to spread the flames to a second dwelling.
The second mobile home also was occupied by two adults who weren’t home at the time of the fire.
The Wilkesboro, Boomer and Broadway fire departments assisted Moravian Falls Fire units.
