In Alexander County Superior Court On Friday, Feburary 11th, 31-year old Cheyenne Leigh Ward entered a plea on charges filed by Taylorsville Police and the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office in 2021. Hours after the death of her step grandfather, Ward forged two checks at the Taylorsville Sate Employee’s Credit Union Office totaling $1,700 from the deceased’s account. He had passed away the same morning.
The judge gave Ward three years of supervised probation violation and ordered her to attend drug counseling sessions with drug tests to be conducted monthly. She will also be required to serve 100 hours of community service and pay restitution. The restitution has been designated by the estate of her grandfather to be given to Alexander County Schools Special Olympics.
