The ruling was related to Adams being in violation of her parole. She was placed on probation following a charge in 2019. Adams was charged with three counts of felony kill animal by starvation and six counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty.
Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies and Alexander County Animal Control went to a residence on Hiddenite Church Road following a complaint involving abused animals. Animal Control found three dead dogs, along with nine others that were severely malnourished and one cat.
On Monday, Adams was sentenced to 20 days in the Alexander County Detention Center for Contempt of Court.
