Hickory Woman Held In Alexander County Custody

Dezarae Lyn Meritt, 35, 21st AVE NE., Hickory, is being held in Alexander County custody. She was served a failure to appear warrant from Hickory Police. The original charge was for larceny and was filed in August.

Merritt has Alexander County charges pending. On November 19th, 2025, Merritt was charged by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office with felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine, felony maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance and felony trafficking in methamphetamine. She was indicted on those charges by an Alexander County Grand Jury on March 16, 2026.
