Hickory Woman Charged With Assaulting Police Officer

24-year-old Savannah Marie Morgan, who is listed as a homeless person from Hickory, has been arrested by Hickory Police on charges of resisting a public officer and assault resulting in physical injury to a law enforcement, probation, or parole officer. She was also charged with a probation violation and four out-of-county probation violations. Morgan’s most recent conviction was in Henderson County in March of this year on a misdemeanor larceny charge. She is currently serving a 12-month suspended sentence.

Morgan was jailed on Tuesday, October 10th in the Catawba County Detention Facility with bond set at $26,000. A first appearance on the assault charges was scheduled for Wednesday in Newton with another appearance on the probation violations coming up on October 16.
