Hickory Police Still Investigating January Homicide

The Hickory Police Department is continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred just over a month ago. On January 21 a Caldwell County resident was shot and killed at Barklay Falls Apartments, on 3rd Avenue S.E. in Hickory.

At approximately 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, January 21, officers responded to the apartment complex, where one man had reportedly sustained a gunshot wound. That individual was identified as 49-year-old Howard Lesley Redmon of Granite Falls. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the incident.

No additional information has been released regarding this incident and no suspects had been identified. The investigation is ongoing.
