Hickory Man Gets Federal Prison Time For Trafficking Cocaine

44-year old Dante Rashaun Ramseur of Hickory was sentenced in U.S. Federal Court on Wednesday to serve 121 months in federal prison. The conviction stems from an investigation conducted jointly by the F.B.I., the Drug Enforcement Administration, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the Hickory Police Department, and the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.

Ramseur was convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine within 1,000 feet of an elementary school, conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a mixture of cocaine, and distribution of cocaine.

Ramseur is already in federal custody.

Co-defendants in the case, 31-year-old Holly Christine Furlough and 33-year-old Carlos Hernandez Landeiro, both from Charlotte, have each pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine near a school. A sentencing date for Furlough and Landeiro has not been set.
