The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year old Justice Elijah Malik Batts of Hickory on Tuesday, December 6th. He has been charged with felony trafficking opium or heroin and felony maintaining a place for a controlled substance. Batts remains in the Catawba County Jail under a secured bond of $10,000 and is scheduled for a court appearance today in Newton.
