Derrick Shikeem Sims, age 24 of Hickory was arrested by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday. Sims was charged with misdemeanor possession of schedule VI controlled substance. He was also served Catawba County warrants for felony possession of a stolen firearm and injury to personal property. Sims was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $23,500.
