As the result of a traffic stop in Alexander County, a Hickory couple is facing felony drug charges.
On Saturday, 40-year old Matthew Byron Wood and Jennifer Ann York, age 36, were taken into custody by Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Officers seized approximately 100 grams of methamphetamine, 1 gram of marijuana, an assortment of pressed fentanyl pills, and a handgun.
Jennifer Ann York is charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell and deliver methamphetamine, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling or place for a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $50,000. York was scheduled to make a court appearance on Monday in Taylorsville. Matthew Byron Wood is charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell and deliver methamphetamine, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling or place for a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Wood was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $55,500.
