Granite Falls Police Arrest Wanted Suspect

Granite Falls, North Carolina – On May 13, Officers from the Granite Falls Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence where the wanted individual, Robert Norman Tucholski III, was located and taken into custody on nine outstanding felony warrants and three misdemeanor warrants. During the search, several firearms were recovered, including one reported stolen by another agency.

The Granite Falls Police Department received numerous complaints about suspicious activity, including potential gun violations, at a unit in Woodlane Street Apartments. An investigation revealed that an individual identified as Tucholski, who had several outstanding felony warrants, was staying at the residence. Officers observed the residence and saw Tucholski exit, enter a vehicle parked nearby, and then quickly return inside. Two unidentified individuals exited the residence. Officers made voluntary contact, but the individuals refused to provide information about others still inside the residence. After the individuals left on foot, officers searched the exterior of the property in the area where the individuals had been, suspecting they may have attempted to conceal contraband before leaving. The search led to an abandoned suitcase containing two firearms. The residence was then secured, and a search warrant for the residence was obtained and executed.

The investigation is ongoing.
