Granite Falls Man Killed This Morning In Caldwell County Mishap

Granite Falls– On Monday, October 9, at approximately 1:40 a.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Caldwell County on Grace Chapel Road near Quail Creek Drive. A 1999 Ford Explorer was traveling north on Grace Chapel Road, crossed the centerline, drove off the left side of the road, and struck a tree.

The driver of the Ford, Charles Rodney Allison Jr, 63, of Granite Falls, NC, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

During the on-scene investigation, Grace Chapel Road was closed in the area for approximately two hours. The initial investigation indicates speed and alcohol were not contributing circumstances in the collision.
