Granite Falls Man Charged With Child-Sex Crime In Burke County

A Granite Falls man has been arrested for child-sex related offenses in Burke County.

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office says they have charged 58-year old Larry Eugene Epley with felony statutory sex-offense with a child by an adult.

According to a press release, an initial report was made to the Sheriff’s Office on January 11th of an alleged sexual assault of a child by an adult by a current registered sex offender. An investigation was conducted and after several interviews a warrant was issued for Epley. He was placed in the Burke County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond. Epley’s first court appearance is scheduled for today.

In 1999, Epley was convicted of indecent liberties with a minor in Burke County. He was ordered to serve 5 years probation.
