ᴄᴀᴛᴀᴡʙᴀ ᴄᴏᴜɴᴛʏ, ɴᴄ – On September 2, 2026, at approximately 10:26 p.m., deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting involving two individuals at a residence on Dover Street in Claremont.
Upon arriving, deputies located an adult male and an adult female deceased inside the residence from gunshot wounds. Preliminary evidence gathered at the scene indicates this was an isolated domestic incident. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding both deaths. The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of family members.
