Former Commissioner Darrell Robertson Passes

Former Alexander County Commissioner William “Darrell” Robertson of Stony Point has died at the age of 72.

Robertson served on the Alexander County Board of Commissioners for 17 consecutive years from 1996 to 2013, after which he served as County Engineer.

Robertson was a graduate of North Carolina State University, with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He served on the Stony Point Volunteer Fire Department, Stony Point Civic Club. He was a former member of Stony Point United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and a youth leader. Darrell will be remembered by many for the years he served District Thirty in the Stony Point Masonic Lodge # 593, A.F. & A.M.

Mr. Robertson will Lie-in-State at Alexander Funeral Service on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm.

The Funeral service will be conducted at Stony Point Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
