A Boone woman died in a crash Monday afternoon in Caldwell County.
The NC Highway Patrol says 21-year old Deanna Jean Smith died at the scene of the accident on Highway 321 north of Lenoir. Smith was a passenger in a pickup truck that ran off the roadway and overturned several times. Smith was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver sustained only minor injuries.
