Fatal Crash Monday In Hickory

Hickory Police are investigating a traffic fatality that occurred Monday afternoon. The two-vehicle crash was reported on Highway 70 SE around 1:30 pm

61-year old Leisa Glenn White of Hickory was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say a vehicle driven by Aaron Lee Walker, age 26 of Newton, was operating a vehicle that crossed into the west bound lane striking the victim’s vehicle.

Walker has been charged with Felony Death by Motor Vehicle, Driving While Impaired, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Careless and Reckless Driving. He is being held on a $121,500 secured bond In the Catawba County Detention Center.
