The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man and woman with felony drug trafficking.
On Wednesday, January 18, An Iredell County Deputy was patrolling West Memorial Highway in the area of Union Grove when he observed a red in color passenger car pass while traveling over the posted speed. Deputies followed the vehicle to a safe location, where they performed a traffic stop.
The deputies approached the vehicle and spoke with the two occupants, Scottie Lewis Pawleski and Barbara Danielle Alexander. Both Pawleski and Alexander exhibited very nervous behavior. Deputy Canine “Levi” sniffed the vehicle’s exterior and gave a positive indication of the presence of narcotics.
264 Grams of Methamphetamine, along with multiple items of drug paraphernalia, were located. The deputies also located ammunition in Pawleski’s pants pockets and two holsters for handguns in the vehicle.
26-year old Scottie Lewis Pawelski of Statesville was charged with; Felony Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession (Level II), Felony Trafficking Methamphetamine by Transport (Level II), Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Maintaining a Vehicle of the Sale or Use of a Controlled Substance and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center with a secured bond of $750,000 33-year old Barbara Danielle Alexander of Purlear in Wilkes County is charged with; Felony Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession (Level II), Felony Trafficking Methamphetamine by Transport (Level II), Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Alexander is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center with a secured bond of $750,000.The street value of the drugs seized in this investigation is 21,000.00 dollars.
