West Jefferson: The Lady Cougars had little trouble on the road on Monday winning over Ashe County.
Alexander Central got a 6-inning win from Macy Law in the circle. She allowed I run, 5 hits and struck out 10.
Kensley Davis went 3 of 4 and drove-in 5 runs including a pair of home runs. Kirstyn Herman homered and drove in a pair. Ava Chapman drove in two runs as well.
Addi Williams hit a homer for Ashe County’s lone run.
AC improves to 13-2 and 5-1 in the Northwestern Conference. Ashe falls to 8-5 and 3-3.

The Huskies put five runs on the board in the 4th inning and beat the visiting Cougars. Tyler Kerley led AC at the plate going 2 for 3 with 3 rbi. Bubba Pope went 3 for 3 and drove in a run. Jaret Hoppes had a pair of hits for the Cougars who drop to 8-9 and 3-3 in conference action. Ashe County is now 10-5 and 3-3.
