Alexander Central’s Men romped over Fred T Foard on Monday in the first round of the Dick’s Sporting Goods Holiday Basketball Classic in Hickory.
The Cougars never trailed and had the Tigers down 20-2 after the opening quarter. Twelve Alexander Central players saw action and 11 scored led by Evan Presnell with 14 and Dusty Sigmon with 11. AC improves to 9-1, Foard falls to 2-7. The Cougars will play St Stephens in winner’s bracket action on Tuesday at 4:30pm. St Stephens (9-2) won their opening game 63-51 over Bunker Hill.
