The Lady Cougars never trailed but led by only 3 after the opening quarter. They took control of the game in the second period outscoring South 16-5 and were up by as many as 19 in the 3 quarter. Julianna Walter led Alexander Central with 20 points, Chesney Stikeleather added 16 and Sydney Hayes 11. Walter left the game in the 4th quarter after taking a knee in the ribs. Coach John Presnell said after the game ” I think she’ll be OK.” The Lady Cougars improve to 17-3 overall and 5-2 in Northwestern Conference play. South Caldwell was led by Olivia Miller with 13 and drop to 11-6 and 3-5.

The Blue and Gold avenged their only conference loss of the season when they fell by a point in January in Taylorsville. South led only once in the first quarter but the Cougars led 20-7 after the first period. Avery Cook had 21 points including 4-8 from behind the arc. Evan Presnell scored 18 despite going only 3 of 13 from three-point land. Dusty Sigmon led AC on the boards with 10 rebounds. Trey Ramsey and Jordan Bentley had 13 apiece for South. Alexander Central sits atop the Northwestern Conference with a record of 6-1, they’re 18-3 overall. South drops to 4-4 and 11-7.
