Alexander Central opened their 2022 Baseball season with a 12-2 thumping of South Iredell on Thursday in Taylorsville.
South plated 2 unearned runs in the top of the first but AC roared back with 12 unanswered runs in the game called after 5 innings due to the mercy rule.
JD Little went all five inning allowing just 2 hits for Alexander Central. He struck-out 9 Vikings. Caleb Williams led ACHS at the plate going 3-4 and 3 runs batted in. Sophomore Justin Hoppes also had a pair of rbi for the Cougars.
AC will host Western Harnett on Saturday at 4pm.
