Conover- On Monday, June 29th at approximately 3:49 p.m., The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision on Emmanuel Church Road near Burris Road, in Catawba County. A 2008 Ford Pickup Truck was traveling East on Emmanuel Church Road, crossed the centerline and drove off the roadway to the left before colliding with a culvert and then a tree.
The driver of the Ford, Junior Ismael Guerrero, 20, of Conover, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the collision. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The initial investigation concluded that impairment was not suspected but that speed did however contribute to the collision.
